Winter Recharge & Restore: Yin Yoga + Sound Healing w/ Live Guitar

January 12th, 2023 - 7 Pm - 9 Pm

The Little Yoga Studio

2525 Arapahoe Ave E-42, Boulder, CO 80302

Are you craving time to rest and embody the stillness of the winter season? Are you ready to recharge and restore your mind, body and heart?

Winter is the most yin time of the year… time slows like a snowflake gliding down to meet the frosted landscape. This is an opportunity to harmonize with the seasons as we slow down, reflect and recharge our energy reserves for the year ahead of us. When we take the time to truly rest, we develop the resiliency and adaptability to flow with what the seasons have in store for us and soften into what is. This period of stillness and reflection allows us to get clear on what we truly desire and align with the source from which we and all things come to be.

In this 2 hour workshop we will support the process of recharge with practices of yin yoga, pranayama and reflection while being guided on a sound healing journey featuring live guitar, vocals, Tibetan singing bowls, and more. We will focus on yin asanas that support the kidneys and bladder by opening the front and back of the body to balance the element of Water, related to the season of Winter in Chinese Medicine. We will spend time connecting with the sacred waters within us so that we can follow the path of least resistance and know when it’s time to harness our strength and will power to grow what we desire in the coming seasons.

Matt’s classes focus on alignment and release in order to activate energy centers, release stuck emotions and bring awareness back to our hearts. He incorporates guitar, singing bowls and mantras into his classes as well as themes around connection to the Earth, ecosystems, elements and the nature within us. Matt is trained in Alignment-Based Hatha (500 hours) and Yin Yoga (100 hours). He has also worked at a top rated yoga retreat center in Thailand and for a non-profit yoga festival. Yoga and meditation brought him to the path of permaculture and regenerative work. His goal is to offer these practices and tools as a way to bring more people into alignment with themselves and Mother Earth.
